Jay has been a member and accompanist at First Baptist Church of Pageland since the early to mid 1980’s.  He started taking piano lessons in the 4th grade and began playing in church around the age of 14.  In the 10th grade Jay began playing regularly at the Presbyterian Church in Pageland on a full time basis until being called to FBC.  Music has always been his avenue for worship and praise to God. It is also a witnessing tool to help others meditate and worship our Lord and Savior.  All are welcome to our FBC.

Jay is married to Rhonda Godfrey from Waxhaw, NC and they have three children. Lauren 15, Maleah 21 and Garrett 26.

“Hear this, you kings! Listen, you rulers! I will sing to the LORD, I will sing; I will make music to the LORD, the God of Israel.   Judges 5:3

Janet Haigler has served as Senior Adult Director at First Baptist for eleven years. She is a life-long resident of Pageland and has been a member of FBC for almost 40 years. Janet and her husband “Shug” have three grown sons, “Punkie’, Jonathan, and Jason, who along with their wives have provided them with five wonderful grandchildren. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Janet teaches at Central High School and is currently working towards her Master’s of Special Ed.  She developed a love and passion for senior adults early in life when she visited the residents of the nursing home where her mother worked and would spend time just sitting and talking with them. Today, she still finds enjoyment sharing with those who have so much to offer through their love for God and others and their wisdom in life’s experiences. Janet also finds time to volunteer with Pageland Community Assistance, an organization which provides help to area residents who are experiencing financial difficulties. She coordinates the volunteers as well as serves as secretary and grant writer. In her spare time, Janet enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, attending Central Eagle ballgames, and writing poetry. Janet tries to live by one of her favorite quotes, “Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind. Do more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work. (William A. Ward)
